Circular knitting machines contain the needles on a circular cylinder. When someone utilizes these devices for manufacturing fabric, it provides them with a seamless tube of a garment. These knitting devices create a piece of cloth by amalgamating the stitches from the needles.

 Single Jersey Machine: 

The single jersey circular knitting machine comprises of only one cylinder on which one set of needles and sinkers are present. The width of the cylinder is usually about 30 inches. The diameter can vary according to the requirements of the manufacturers and type of machines.
We call the piece of garment produced on a single jersey knitting machine as “Single jersey fabric”. The thickness of this stuff is almost half of the double jersey cloth material. The front and back sides of these garments are different in appearance to each other.

 Auto Striper Single Jersey Machine:

These circular knitting machines have automatic yarn feeding system. We can pre-program the yarn feeder to feed the thread in a particular way to create the required garment.
As these devices have feeding automation, their speed is usually higher than the other circular knitting machines.

 Terry Single Jersey Machine:

Terry circular knitting machines utilize “Plush knitting technique” to manufacture Terry fabrics.
While applying this technique, we position one set of sinker loops longer than the ground fabric loops. The long sinker loops create a velvet-like pile on the fabric. Finally, threads both from the pile and ground fabric work together to provide a stable structure to the garment.

 Jacquard Single Jersey Machine:

These are just like the other essential knitting devices. These machines incorporate an actuator which assists the movement of the needles via computerized needle picking system.
For producing the jacquard pattern on the garment, the programmed needle selecting system carries out the knit, miss and tuck processes automatically.

Double Jersey Machines:

This type of circular knitting machines possesses two sets of needles out of which one is present on the dial and another on the cylinder. Double arrangement of needles in these devices allows the creation of fabric which is twice in thickness as that of the single jersey garment. We call the stuff manufactured by these knitting machines as double jersey fabric.
Double jersey knitting devices don’t contain sinkers in them.

Rib Double Jersey Machines:

These machines also comprise of two sets of needles one being present on the cylinder and another on the dial. Both the needle sets are available at right angles to each other.
In rib double jersey knitting machines, the cylinder is in the vertical position whereas the dial is in the horizontal position. This arrangement makes the needle sets to be present perpendicular to each other. It also results in the horizontal motion of needles on the dial and vertical movement on the cylinder.  

As there occur two different types of movements in these knitting devices, it causes the formation of a rib pattern. For identifying this structure, one should check the front and back loops of the fabric which run along the course successively. You must notice that all the loops of a wale are similar.

Interlock Double Jersey Machine:

Most of the circular knitting machines employ only one type of latch needle. But interlock double jersey devices use two kinds of needles.
One needle is present on the cylinder and another on the dial. The placement of these needles is opposite to each other.
